We are looking for a versatile person to join our small maintenance team to provide hands on maintenance for our Aged Care facilities around Christchurch. Heritage Lifecare (GHG) Ltd comprises of seven facilities which offer various residential care services. Our facilities include Villas and Rest-homes.
The tasks will be varied and sometimes require thinking outside the square. Painting, room refurbishment and general carpentry skills will be required. The variety of tasks may include fixing locks, installation of gates and wardrobe doors etc. You will need to be physically strong and agile, as some furniture moving is required from time to time. Your knowledge of general plumbing would also come in handy, as all our facilities have bathroom ensuites, kitchens, storm water and guttering.
Most importantly, you will need to have a can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, and a great sense of humour.
This role is 5 days per week – 8am to 4.30pm. You will also be required to be available for 2 weeks on-call for emergency repair call-outs on a rotational 6 weekly period. You will be provided transport to travel around our facilities.
